Back in October, we heard that Russell Westbrook was going to miss, at least, the first month of the NBA season after undergoing arthroscopic surgery on the torn meniscus in his right knee. Then, late last week, the timetable got pushed up, claiming Westbrook would only miss two more weeks. But now, we have just gotten word from beat writer for The Oklahoman, Darnell Mayberry, that Russ has "passed all medical and physical benchmarks in rehab" and will play tonight against the Phoenix Suns.

While the Oklahoma City Thunder have been able to maintain a 1-1 record in his absence, Westbrook's presence is definitely a welcome sight for the squad and NBA fans alike.

Welcome back, Russ!
