Cleanup in aisle 1!

Over the weekend, an 85-year-old man dropped his daughter off at a Save-A-Lot grocery store in Spring Valley, Calif. before driving off and attempting to find a parking spot. At least, that was the plan. But unfortunately, the man accidentally stepped on his accelerator instead of his brake when he pulled into a spot near the front of the store and drove his Toyota directly through the front of the store and into the produce section. He came to a complete stop once he was inside the store but not before he scared the hell out of everyone in the general vicinity of the supermarket.

"It sounded like an explosion," a man who was across the street from the grocery store at the time of the accident told NBC San Diego a short time later. "It looked like a bomb went off because there was glass all over the place."

No one inside of the store was hurt in the crash. But the elderly man who was driving the car did suffer from minor injuries and, to add insult to injury, will need to have his driver's license reevaluated in the coming days (though, to be fair, it does sound like that's not a bad idea). And the store is hoping to reopen today. But it looks like it required one hell of a cleanup job over the course of the last 24 hours. Yikes.
