Kevin Durant is the coolest guy in the NBA right now. Hands down. And he's exponentially cooler to us because of a story that we just read over here.
According to the story, which was written by NewsOK editor Matt Carney, KD was spotted at a YMCA in Oklahoma City last Friday afternoon, one night after the Thunder beat the Clippers at home. And he wasn't there to speak to kids or to fulfill some sort of obligation that he had as part of an NBA program. No, he was there to play ball. Carney didn't get the chance to play with KD, but he did shoot hoops at one end of the court while KD and several of his friends got in a few games at the other end.
"There Kevin Durant was, the morning after dropping 28 points in a late game against the Clippers, playing half-court ball with his buddies (each of them big enough to discomfort somebody sitting next to them on an airplane), talking noise and completely disregarding the 'NO DUNKING ALLOWED' sign pasted to the window of the gym," Carney writes. "The Y employee at the desk made me promise not to bother him, so I checked out a ball and headed to the other end of the court to practice corner threes and otherwise pretend like one of the two greatest basketball players on the planet wasn't at the other end performing feats of scoring magic that I normally can't afford to watch."
