This story with Dolphins lineman Jonathan Martin has taken on its own legs. Soon after he left the team temporarily because of an emotional breakdown, an ESPN report revealed that Martin was a target of harassment from teammate Richie Incognito. Martin's exit was reportedly tied into that relationship.

Now, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel is reporting that bullying didn't affect Martin's decision to leave the team. His departure was due to prior emotional issues. The NFLPA was set to investigate the issue, but it looks like it will hold back on further action.

The belief that Martin was bullied off the team was given further weight because of when he broke down. His teammates played a prank against him, when he "totally snapped," according to one teammate. The situation probably only triggered Martin's breakdown. Regardless, hopefully he gets the help he needs before he steps back into the locker room.
