Just about everything has gone right for the Kansas City Chiefs so far this season. They're currently in first place in the AFC West with a 9-0 record. They've had the good fortune of playing against a handful of teams who were forced to use their backup quarterbacks during games against the Chiefs. And, for the most part, they haven't suffered any serious injuries. But it sounds like their good luck just ended during, of all times, their bye week.

According to FOX 4 Kansas City, Chiefs wide receiver Dwayne Bowe was arrested in Riverside, Mo. late Sunday night on marijuana possession charges. Bowe was pulled over for doing 48 mph in a 35 mph zone in his 2011 Audi A8 just before midnight on Sunday and, when a police officer approached his car, he noticed that the car reeked of weed. So he had Bowe and two passengers who were inside the car exit the vehicle and sent in a K-9 dog to search it. The search turned up more than 10 grams of weed, and Bowe and one of his passengers were placed under arrest for possession of a controlled substance. Bowe and his passenger were bailed out by the third passenger, who was not charged with any crime, a short time after they were placed under arrest. But they are both due back in court on December 18.

As of right now, the Chiefs haven't responded to the news about Bowe getting arrested. But a statement of some kind should be coming out soon. With the Chiefs set to take on the Broncos this Sunday, could this incident have come at a worse time for the team?
