Last night, the collective hearts of Chicago Bulls fans sunk into the pit of their stomachs when Derrick Rose came off of the court during last night's game against the Portland Trail Blazers in the third quarter, unable to put any weight on his right knee. Following the game, Bulls head coach Tom Thibodeau expressed some concern, saying that he "has pain and it felt like he couldn’t push off his right knee." But, Thibodeau also said he didn't want to speculate until after an MRI was done today in Los Angeles.

Now we know the status on Rose's injury:

Very sad news, especially after Rose went through more than a year's worth of struggle. Will the 2011 MVP ever make it back to form after this?
