Here's the Dallas Mavericks Interpreted Through the Spongebob Squarepants Opening Sequence

This is too ridiculous not to watch.

Earlier this year, we saw that Dallas Mavericks owner Mark Cuban was planning on including animation in his pitch to Dwight Howard during the scramble for him. Obviously, it didn't work, but that didn't stop Cuban from returning to the artform again. This time there isn't as specific of a goal and the results are more ridiculous.

We're not entirely sure why Cuban and the PR team came up with the idea of a Spongebob Squarepants video for the team. Just know three things:

  • It exists.
  • Dirk Nowitzki actually makes a good Spongebob.
  • There doesn't need to be a reason for the video's existence, because Mark Cuban is going to do Mark Cuban regardless.

It's impossible to play basketball under the sea because of a little thing called the laws of physics. Then again, Spongebob manages to light a fire underwater and almost drowns in a swimming pool that's also located undersea in the cartoon, so we digress.
