Arcades in the 80's and 90's were the best place to be. Whether you went there with a bunch of your buddies, or you snuck away while your parents were shopping, the local arcade was the best place to be a bored kid. There was something immersive about the flashing lights, the futuristic sounds, and the dark-lit ambience that made arcades alluring - a sexy casino for the younger set.
Home consoles killed most arcades by the beginning of the new millennium (who got the PS4?), but we still remember the good old days. We're counting down the Top Ten Arcade Racers - the games that ate our allowance, one quarter at a time.
