For only the fifth time in the EPL, Stoke City keeper Asmir Begovic scored a goal. From about 100 yards out, Begovic was somehow able to get his club on the board within the first 15 seconds of today's match against Southampton. Wow. Just wow.
Begovic's goal is one of many goalkeepers hitting the back of the net. The most recent keeper from the EPL to do so was Tim Howard in 2012. Others include Brad Friedel in 2004 as a member of Blackburn, Jose Luis Chilavert who was the first keeper to score a hat trick against Ferro Carril Oeste and Pat Jennings at Old Trafford in 1967.
