Minnesota actually had itself another highlight moment after Adrian Peterson's touchdown in Sunday's loss to the Packers. Peterson's backup Toby Gerhart delivered on a 13-yard touchdown in his only rushing attempt of the game. It's always a little bit of a feel good moment to see a backup finally get some shine, except if you're Greg Jennings, who watched Gerhart score while he was lying on the turf.
When you've been a backup for most of your professional career and finally have that moment to shine, you're not going to let silly little things like your teammate being in your way stop you from getting yours. So you just run him over. Jennings' first year with the Vikings have been short of highlights when compared to his Packers days and this probably wasn't how he wanted to get one. Such is the price for trying to be a good teammate.
