Can the 2013-14 NFL season get any worse for the Houston Texans than it already is?! Apparently, it can.

The Texans are currently 2-5 so far on the season. Their starting quarterback situation is a complete mess thanks to the poor play (and the poor health) of Matt Schaub. And now, the team just had to release three players from their roster because they were reportedly found smoking weed in a hotel room on Saturday, just 24 hours before the Texans took on the Chiefs in Kansas City. The three players—linebacker Sam Montgomery, running back Cierre Wood, and linebacker Willie Jefferson—are all rookies and didn't play a big role in the Texans game plans so far this season. But that's three bodies that now have to be replaced by the team.

"I don't understand why they did it," Texans linebacker Brooks Reed said yesterday. "They had the opportunity of their lives and they just kind of threw it away. I don't have too much to say about it. It's really unfortunate."

You can say that again. With the Texans struggling this season, there's a pretty good chance that all three of the players could have seen some significant playing time later this year. But now, they're likely going to be out of the league for awhile until they can prove that they're worth the headache to another team. Good going, guys.
