Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder has reportedly made significant progress in his recovery from an injury and is likely to return in two weeks. The Thunder issued an original timetable of six to eight weeks from tomorrow's opening night Thunder game for Westbrook, but barring an unexpected setback, Westbrook could be back in the lineup by mid-November.

After rehabilitating a torn meniscus suffered in the Western Conference first round against Houston in April, Westbrook rehabilitated his knee injury and was expected to be ready for the beginning of the season. Unfortunately, a loose stitch caused swelling and forced a second surgical procedure earlier in the month. Let's see what shape Russ is in when he returns.
