Fuzzy Zoeller Plays Into Every Racist Stereotype About Golf

: "You pat him on the back and say congratulations and enjoy it and tell him not to serve fried chicken next year. Got it? Or collard greens or whatever the hell they serve."
Who said it: Fuzzy Zoeller

When Tiger Woods first broke into the PGA, his extraordinarily diverse background put a special attention on the young, "Caublinasian" athlete who was ready to play in what was primarily a white man's game. However, some people like Tour veteran Fuzzy Zoeller were apparently none too pleased with the development. After a disappointing finish in the 1997 Masters, Zoeller made his racist remarks towards Tiger, undoubtedly jealous of the success that the young phenom had been enjoying that weekend. Zoeller claimed that it was all a joke but, more than anything, he really just came off as a goat. As a result, Zoeller lost a couple sponsors, and had to issue a public apology for his insensitivity.
