Miguel Cotto's Left Hand Destroys Delvin Rodriguez in Knockout Victory (GIF)

El Angel with the hellish finisher.

Thirty-two year old Miguel Cotto (38-4) headed into last night's fight against Delvin Rodriguez (28-6) in hopes of breaking a two-fight losing streak. Cotto felt the best way to do so was nearly breaking his opponent's face, which is what he nearly did in this third-round knockout.

Cotto and Rodriguez both attempted to land lefts at the same time, but Cotto's was quicker, sharper, and on the temple. Rodriguez fell completely discombobulated and the referee mercifully ended the fight right there.

It was the result of what legendary trainer Freddie Roach called the "best training camp I've ever had with any fighter." That includes his experience training James Toney, Manny Pacquiao, and Mike Tyson.

Cotto's win sets up a potential fight with Canelo Alvarez (42-1), who's definitely going to be game after suffering his first loss from Floyd Mayweather, Jr.
