Lamborghini's egomaniacal tear in 2013 continued today, and we're loving every minute of it. The first images of the Veneno Roadster have been released (we're waiting on confirmation of whether they are official or renderings) in a “Rosso Veneno" color scheme. Previous reports put the new open-top version of the Veneno, of which only nine will be made, at a mind-boggling $3.3 million euros (which roughly translates to $4,500,000, but is constantly changing thanks to conversions rates), $500,000 more than the hard-top (and remember only four of the original will be made).
The best part of this roadster? There is literally no roof. It's not like the Aventador Roadster, which has a two-piece removable top. With the Veneno, open means open. At all times. There is, however a rollover bar for safety purposes.
The Veneno carries a 6.5-liter V12 engine that has been tuned to 740 horses, rides on a racing chassis with pushrod suspension and horizontal spring/damper units, has all-wheel drive, and a carbon fiber monocoque chassis makes the car light enough to jump from 0-60 in only 2.9 seconds. The car maxes out at 355 km/h, or roughly 220 mph.
