So is Kobe Bryant going to return to the Lakers lineup soon…or not?

Recent reports out of L.A. seem to indicate that he won't be back with the team anytime soon. He's still rehabbing the Achilles injury he suffered at the end of last season, and his knee has been bothering him in recent weeks. So we have been given the impression that it's going to be awhile before KB24 gets back onto the basketball court.

However, Kobe himself seems to think that, if the NBA Playoffs started today, he could play. He was asked about his Achilles injury for the 4,297,841st time in China on Monday—where the Lakers are set to play the Warriors in a preseason game on Tuesday—and Kobe said, "If today was a playoff or NBA Finals [game], could I play? Probably."

"I feel pretty damn good," he continued, "so I'm going to get out today and try to move around on the court."

Does that mean he's actually going to be ready for the start of the 2013-14 NBA season? Not at all. It just means that if he had to play, he would give it a shot. So there's still a good chance we won't see him back in action for awhile. We'll just have to wait and see how he feels in a couple of weeks.
