As of right now, NFL players have accepted the fact that they're going to have to play an occasional game on Thursday Night Football…but they're not happy about it. So just think about how unhappy they would be if they had to play on Thursday nights more often.

That might happen sooner than you think, according to Cowboys owner Jerry Jones. He just revealed that the NFL is thinking about possibly adding a second Thursday night game to their schedule every week, which would lead to teams playing on Thursday nights more often. The thought is that Thursday night games are getting great ratings for the league. So a second game on Thursday nights could give the league an even bigger ratings boost moving forward and earn them more money from cable and satellite providers in the long run.

"We could easily have a doubleheader on Thursday," Jones told SportsBusiness Daily recently. "I don't think that is out of the realm of thought. We haven't set up how we will do it."

Two league spokesmen have already gone on the record and said that a second Thursday night game has not been discussed yet. But something tells us that if Jerry Jones and other NFL owners are already considering it, it could become a real possibility sooner than later. And we don't expect NFL players to be very happy about it.
