If we were to put together a list of people who could probably beat LeBron James in a game of 1-on-1, that list would be very, very, very short. Kevin Durant? Yeah, we think KD could hang with LeBron. Carmelo Anthony? If he was having a great shooting day, we think he could steal one from LeBron, too. Kobe Bryant? He's getting older now, but we wouldn't put it past him. What about Greg Hardy, though? Uhhhhh….

If you're thinking "Who the hell is Greg Hardy?!" right now, you're not alone. That's exactly what we thought, too, when we first heard that Hardy thinks he could beat LeBron 1-on-1. Hardy is a defensive end for the Carolina Panthers, and he's not someone that we would ever think to pair up with LeBron in a game of 1-on-1. But apparently, he thinks he has what it takes to beat LeBron.

"I would dominate that dude," he told the Charlotte Observer recently. "Hands down, guaranteed win…I'm a beast…Everyone says he can go to the NFL and play defensive end, who says I can't go to the NBA?"

Hmmm…Where do we even start here? We don't doubt that Hardy is a hell of an athlete. We also don't doubt that Hardy could score a bucket or two against LeBron. But beat him? Or, better yet, dominate him? No. Just no. We give the guy credit for putting himself in the headlines with this ridiculous boast. But there's no way he would ever beat LeBron James in a game of basketball. Case closed.
