There are really, really, really dumb car thieves—and then there's Aaron C. Whitehill.

Early yesterday morning, Whitehill decided to steal a Chevrolet Trailblazer in Omaha, Neb. But the 31-year-old got busted with the car a short time later and charged with suspicion of theft. However, he didn't get caught because police pulled him over and found him to be in possession of a stolen vehicle. He also didn't get caught because police randomly scanned the tags of the SUV. Rather, he got caught because he drove to a local convenience store after stealing the SUV, parked it, and then accidentally fell asleep inside of it with the SUV still running. Yes, that's right. He fell asleep inside of a stolen car directly outside of a convenience store with the SUV still running.

Someone called police a short time later and asked them to investigate the suspicious SUV. And when they arrived, they found Whitehill passed out behind the wheel of it. They woke up him, arrested him, and cemented his legacy as one of the dumbest car thieves ever. What a moron.
