Leave it to the "White Mamba" to show up to NBA Media Day with a black eye

Yesterday, members of the Golden State Warriors team and coaching staff came together to take photos for the upcoming NBA season. And for the most part, everything went according to plan. But one weird thing did take place during Media Day—the team's new assistant coach Brian Scalabrine showed up and took a picture with a big black eye.

So how did he get it? Well, unfortunately, the story behind it isn't all that exciting. As it turns out, he had some dental surgery done prior to the shoot (nice planning, dude!) which is why he had a black eye. But it's still a pretty badass photo. And even in retirement, Scalabrine never ceases to amaze us with his ability to make headlines for the silliest reasons.
