Remember the Mazda Furai? It's the concept car from which all of Mazda's current designs spring, and it was also packing thoroughbred racing guts. It was packing a 3-rotor wankle engine that put out 450 horses. The designed had even hoped to make a production version (that we would have sold our families to buy) and to race it in Le Mans as a successor to Mazda's Le Mans-winning 787B.

Sadly, that beautiful car is no more, because it burst into flame and burned to a crisp while in Top Gear's care. We're not sure exactly how it happened, but the picture is heartbreaking. Can we ever forgive the venerable British motor-mag? (Hint: the answer is "Yes")
