Ravens wide receiver Jacoby Jones is having one hell of a time keeping himself healthy so far this year. Earlier this season, he injured his knee during a game against the Broncos, which has kept him on the sidelines in recent weeks. And early this morning, Jones sustained another injury when he was reportedly hit in the head with a bottle of champagne while out celebrating the birthday of his teammate Bryant McKinnie.
According to TMZ, a fight broke out on a party bus that was being used to transport Jones, McKinnie, several of their Ravens teammates, and at least one stripper who goes by the name "Sweet Pea" at about 3 a.m. today after a night out at Opera Ultra Lounge in Washington, D.C. There's been no word as to what caused the fight. But the stripper on the bus reportedly hit Jones with a large bottle of Ace of Spades champagne at one point, which caused him to start bleeding profusely. The police were called, and it was clear that something had happened on the bus. But no one was arrested because none of the Ravens players or anyone else on the bus cooperated with police.
TMZ is also reporting that after "Sweet Pea" struck Jones with the bottle, several of Jones' friends attempted to attack her. But McKinnie stepped in and stopped them, which reportedly triggered another fight between him and one of Jones' friends. All in all, it sounds like it was a real shit show that didn't end well for anyone. And we're sure that Roger Goodell and the Ravens are going to want to hear more about what happened on the bus that led to Jones getting cracked with a bottle.
Let's hope that all of this is not nearly as bad as it sounds. Because as of right now, this sounds like it has all the makings of a crazy scandal…
