Hopefully Kevin Durant is ready to shoulder the load for a little while longer.

Back in June, Russell Westbrook posted a Vine of himself throwing away the crutcheshe neededafter tearing his meniscus in the first round of the NBA playoffs. It's a victory, but it's still part of the rehab process. It looks like that process may not be moving quick enough to ensure Westbrook will recover in time for the season opener.

Westbrook dropped the bomb during Friday's Oklahoma City media day when he was asked about playing in the opening game on Oct. 30 against the Jazz. The point guard said, "I'm not sure."

“I just wake up in the morning, get to my rehab and then go back to sleep and do it all over again," Westbrook continued. "I just take it one day at a time, man, and try not to look ahead. When something like this happens you have to take it slow. I mean, there's no need for me to rush into looking ahead on the schedule or anything like that. Just take it one day at a time and try to find a way to get back.”

This shouldn't hurt the Thunder all that much since they do face the Pistons and the Suns within the first four games. Regardless, no one except the opposing teams and their fans would be mad if theice cream-serving Kevin Durant has to take a seat for the not niceone to rise to support his team.
