It sounds like a good call.

The NFL is finally thinking about making a change that will please fans. ESPN is reporting that league officials are discussing cutting down the four-game preseason into three games and extending the playoffs from a 12-team tournament to 14. These changes can be in effect as early as next season.

This isn't some appreciation gift for the fans though, of course. The proposed extended playoffs would make up for lost revenue from the lost preseason game while adding extra television revenue. The only things the NFL needs to move on with the changes are the votes of team owners, a new preseason scheduling formula, sponsorship agreements, and resolutions to stadium lease issues. Do you think it's worth it?
