Michael Beasley Was Released by the Suns Following His Recent Arrest for Marijuana Possession

Is his NBA career over?

None

Michael Beasley is only going to get so many chances to prove himself in the NBA. And he just blew another one.

Earlier today, less than a month after he got arrested for alleged marijuana possession, the Phoenix Suns cut ties with Beasley. Despite signing him to a three-year deal worth $18 million last summer, the team has already grown tired of Beasley's off-the-court issues.

"The Suns were devoted to Michael Beasley's success in Phoenix," Suns president of basketball operations Lon Babby said through a statement that was released this afternoon. "However, it is essential that we demand the highest standards of personal and professional conduct as we develop a championship culture. Today's action reflects our commitment to those standards."

It's another wasted opportunity for Beasley. Will he get another one with a different NBA team? We'll just have to wait and see. But it's pretty clear that he's never going to live up to all the hype that surrounded him back in 2008 when he was the No. 2 pick in the NBA Draft. Such a shame.
