Normally, there are a few things you can do when a sack is eminent: clutch the ball and avoid a fumble or get out of the box to legally throw the ball away. Geno Smith chose neither and tried to do a Jamal Crawford-esque behind-the-back crossover as he was getting sacked. The problem is this isn't basketball; it's football. That trickery doesn't work here.

So Smith ended up costing the Jets a fumble and gave the Titans a touchdown. This was another lowlight in New York's 38-13 blowout loss. Not even the referees directly interfering can help the Jets overcome mistakes like these.
