Microsoft may have just created the greatest video game commercial ever without using special effects or dozens of gameplay clips. For Forza Motorsport 5, they took a McLaren 12C to the track and lined up 680 still frames along the side of the raceway. Then, with a massive camera mounted to the roof, Tanner Foust drove the McLaren past the photographs and recorded each frame, reaching speeds well over 100MPH. The result is a flipbook style clip of the game that is so much better than watching computer graphics edited together to look more exciting. Sometimes you have to go back to basics to push the envelope (and having access to a McLaren doesn't hurt either).
