A Double Decker Bus Hit a Passenger Train in Ottawa

During rush hour on September 18, a double decker bus hit a passenger train in Ottawa, Canada. The driver and six riders were killed when the bus failed to stop and hit the side of the train, which had just left Farrowfield Station a few minutes earlier. According to reports, as many as 31 passengers were taken to the hospital for injuries and the train was derailed but none of train passengers were harmed. The scene is still under investigation but NBC News reports that the bus may have driven through the lowered barricade as the train approached the intersection and that passengers attempted to get the driver to stop to avail.
