Italian Long Runner Devis Licciardi Caught Using Fake Anatomy to Cheat Drug Test

We can't make this stuff up.

After competing in a 10,000m road race in Molfetta, Puglia, Devis Licciardi was asked to submit a urine sample to test for any possible signs of doping. Nothing out of the norm there since plenty of athletes get tested immediately after a race all the time. But what wasn't so normal was the, um, member used by Licciardi.

According to The Daily Telegraph, the Italian long runner was alledgedly trying to "siphon urine into the sample pot from a penis which was evidently not his own." He also reportedly told the doctor who administered the test "I'd like to be alone," but in accordance with the protocol, the 27-year-old wasn't left along.

As a result of the finding, Licciardi, a member of Italy's Air Force athletics team, was reported to anti-doping authorities and if found guilty, he could be given a two-year ban.
