One thing that's great about the U.S. Open is how hype the fans get for American players. Years ago, when Andre Agassi was making his final run at the tournament, his win in a classic, five-set match against Marcos Baghdatis was, at least in part, fueled by the energy the crowd was giving off to him. An American player can always count on having a little added motivation like that when they take the court at Flushing Meadows.

Last night, the fans tried to do the same for the now-retired, James Blake. Appearing in what would end up being his final match ever, Blake fell to Ivo Karlovic in an unforgettable—but no less disappointing—five sets. Men's American tennis being what it is today (i.e. starved for a star player), Blake's presence on the court will be greatly missed.

However, though we lost Blake for good, we were introduced to a new American phenom; a young superfan, if you will. If anyone was going to be willing Blake to victory, it was this kid. Take a look.

Someone get us a Captain America shirt like that, NOW.
