With just a few days left in the month it seems safe to say that Elon Musk won August. A couple weeks back the beast of innovation finally announced his plans for the Hyperloop. Though the plans are aspirational, to say the least, nobody can diss the science. And then let's not forget the Tesla Model S was named the safest car ever last week. Musk already had to be walking on sunshine after that, but now comes even more good news: the Model S is killing it in California

According to the L.A. Times, the car has crept up to become the third best selling luxury vehicle in the Golden State. With 4,714 electric cars sold this year, only the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and BMW 5 Series are putting up bigger numbers. "And why is Cali so important?" you may be asking. Well, its population is buying cars at a faster rate than anywhere else in the country. While car sales are up 7.7 percent in the nation, the figures are up 12.5 percent in California. The state has also accounted for roughly half of the company's sales in 2014.

So now that we know he's keeping his key market happy, in addition to the other accomplishments, we're left wondering one thing: What's next for September?
