What in the world is wrong with people?!

Late last week, Christopher Lane—a 22-year-old college baseball player for East Central University in Oklahoma—was gunned down by three teenagers. Lane, who is originally from Australia, died Friday after he was shot by the boys who followed him for a few minutes in their car before shooting him. And why did they shoot him? According to police, they were "bored."

"They saw Christopher go by, and one of them said, 'There's our target,'" Duncan, Okla. police chief Danny Ford just revealed. "The boy who has talked to us said, 'We were bored and didn't have anything to do, so we decided to kill somebody.' They followed him in the car to that area, shot him in the back, and drove off."

Seriously?! Michael Jones, 17, Chauncey Luna, 16, and James Edwards, 15, have all been arrested in connection with the murder.

R.I.P. to Lane (pictured above with his girlfriend Sarah Harper). This is the saddest, most baffling sports-related story we've heard in a long, long time.
