Sad news out of New Orleans tonight.

According to numerous reports, Gia Allemand—a former contestant on ABC's reality TV show The Bachelor and the girlfriend of Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson—has reportedly died two days after an apparent suicide attempt. Anderson, who started dating Allemand two years ago, reportedly found Allemand unconscious in her New Orleans home on Monday night and called 911. She was placed on life support at a nearby hospital that night but was taken off of it earlier today after doctors discovered that she had lost all brain and organ functions.

"She passed away peacefully with her mother, boyfriend, and other life-long friends by her side," a statement released by her family said. "As a practicing Christian, Gia did receive the sacrament of last rites."

Anderson also released a statement about his girlfriend's passing.

"I'm deeply grateful for all the love and support we have received from family, friends, and fans," he said. "Gia was the most beautiful person I knew inside and out and she always smiled and made everyone else around her smile."

R.I.P. Our condolences to both Anderson and the Allemand family.
