Rex Ryan Is Already Losing His Cool in Press Conferences (Video)

It's been a rough (pre)season.

Head coach Rex Ryan is a stressed man right now. Geno Smith blew his chance to clinch a starter position for Week 1 because of his poor performance in the first half. Ryan gave the media more to poke at by putting Mark Sanchez in late in the game, where he injured his shoulder after a hard hit. The reporters were all ready to question him about his decision.

It doesn't look like Ryan was though, and now the Jets organization have another Ryan gaffe to add to its list of headaches. The head coach responded  hilariously bad to the flurry of questions he got in the conference.

As questionable as it was, Ryan answered that he wouldn't have put Sanchez in the game if it wasn't for important reasons.

The reporters also asked who would be the Jets' starting quarterback—a reasonable inquiry. Ryan responded by saying, “We’ll make the announcement on a starting quarterback when we think is the appropriate time. Not when you, not when this person or this person or this person. Now maybe that person, but that’s about it.”

A reporter then asked, "Can't you say that he has a chance..."  But Ryan was not having anything of it: “I can say anything I want. That’s the beauty of this country.” He then turned his body in different directions while defending himself to—we guess—show how free of a country it is.

The whole moment was just....huh? Pull it together, Ryan. You have a whole season ahead of you.
