Matt Harvey Underwent An MRI Today

The Mets pitcher might be out for awhile.

If this New York Mets season could get any worse it just did. All-Star pitcher and future of the franchise Matt Harvey had an MRI today after experiencing soreness in his forearm. Harvey has been amazing this season but he has appeared to be a little more mortal in his last few starts. The Tigers ripped him apart for 13 hits on Saturday.

Now Mike Francesa of WFAN is reporting that Harvey will go on the disabled list for a partially torn UCL. That injury is what usually leads to the dreaded Tommy John Surgery which has an estimated timetable of 12 months to recover from. Can the Mets catch any breaks?
