Jackie Robinson Statue Outside of Brooklyn Cyclones Stadium Was Defaced With Swastikas and Racist Comments

Not cool.

At about 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday, a manager at MCU Park, the home ballpark of the Brooklyn Cyclones, noticed some very offensive messages written in black marker on their Jackie Robinson statue. On the piece, which features Robinson and Dodgers teammate Pee Wee Reese, such things as swastikas and comments, like "Heil Hitler," "Die n****r," "F**k n****r" and "F**k Jackie Robinson" were scribbled.

Billy Harner, director of communications for the Cyclones, said, "The statue is a symbol of tolerance," said Billy Harner, director of communications for the Cyclones... It's an absolute tragedy that someone would deface it the way they did."

Cops were at the scene to try and determine who committed the wrongful act, which they believed occurred after Tuesday night's game.
