Honda is Launching a Campaign to Save America's Drive-In Theaters

There aren't many left, so let's try to preserve the ones we have.

35mm film distribution is due to be discontinued at the end of 2013 which means that many drive-in movie theaters that can't afford the $75,000 upgrade to digital projection are going to close their doors this year. Honda has appointed itself as the steward of American motor culture, and is offering to upgrade five drive-ins that would otherwise be closing, as well as helping to raise money for the rest.

To vote for which of the five should be saved, check out www.projectdrivein.com where you can also donate to a fund that will help save more theaters. Once you've done that, do chill in your Honda Fit and watch a movie.
