Gumpert is best known for making the Apollo and all of its many, many variants and special editions, but now there will be no more German hypercars named for Greek deities. Yup, Gumpert declared insolvency last year after a specactularly failed attempt to enter the Chinese market.

An anonymous investor jumped in to try to save the company, but unfortunately, said investor recently pulled out after a lack of sales even in the core European market. Needless to say, not selling any cars is a pretty big problem.

Gumpert is gone.
