The latest individual to join the Miley-Hate parade has a bone to pick with Cyrus' on-stage antics, mainly because he says that controversial pop star "degraded" one of his inventions. What is that invention, you may ask? The foam finger.
That's right: the original creator of those foam fingers you see at every sports stadium, Steve Chmelar—who made the fan accessory for his high school basketball team's state tournament games back in 1971—said that Miley's usage of the implement "misrepresented its intent to encourage team support." Oh, you don't say?
Granted, Chmelar's version of the finger was actually constructed with galvanized hardware cloth, paper mache, spray paint and a red marker, but the idea was originally his. Chmelar went on to say:

And about the actual performance, Chemelar noted:
For people that like that kind of entertainment, I'm sure that it met their needs. If I had a choice between Julie Andrews singing 'The Sound of Music' and Miley Cyrus doing 'Can't Stop,' I'd go the Julie Andrews route, but everyone has their choice and their decision.
