Some guys have all the luck. It appears as though Dick Van Dyke is one of those guys.

Yesterday afternoon, the legendary actor was traveling on the 101 freeway in Calabasas, Calif. at around 2 p.m. when he started to have some car trouble. So he pulled his four-door Jaguar over and parked on the shoulder, thinking that he probably had a flat. But the problem was much worse than that and, within minutes, Van Dyke's Jaguar was engulfed in flames. He didn't realize it, though, and stayed inside of his car to wait for help. But fortunately, a driver who passed Van Dyke's car did realize that it was on fire and pulled over to help him out of the car, just minutes before the whole thing burned to a crisp.

"It was scary," Van Dyke told TMZ later.

You can say that again. Watch Van Dyke's dramatic rescue in the video above. Great save, guys.
