You probably had a better night last night than reporter, C. Trent Rosecrans, of the Cincinnati Enquirer. As you'll hear in the video above, Cincinnati Reds second baseman, Brandon Phillips, absolutely laid into Rosecrans because of some shots that the journalist had been firing at Phillips on his Twitter account. Phillips has been in something of a slump lately and, apparently, he didn't need anyone reminding him of that fact.

This tweet from Rosecrans, sent out earlier in the day and referencing Phillips' on-base percentage, is what set Phillips off:

Reds go from a hitter with a .320 OBP in the 2 hole to one with a .310 OBP

Seems like a bit of an overreaction on Phillips' part, doesn't it? Rosecrans, after all, was just stating the facts but, in Phillips' defense, we can also see how it could be taken as something of a veiled criticism. FWIW, Phillips went 2-5 last night in the Reds' 10-0 win over the St. Louis Cardinals, thereby raising his OBP to, wait for it, .311. How do you like them apples, Rosecrans?!
