Playing in, er, sitting on the bench in New York City certainly has its perks! Just ask Amar'e Stoudemire, who was just asked to help judge the Miss America pageant in Atlantic City, N.J. next month.

Even though he didn't play much last season—and even though there's a good chance he won't play a whole lot next season—the pageant organizers apparently wanted an NBA player on the Miss America judging panel this year alongside other celebrities like Lance Bass. So they reached out to Stoudemire, who agreed to serve as a host on September 15 at Boardwalk Hall in AC.

We're sure all of the Knicks fans out there will be thrilled about this. Question: Does Stoudemire have to wear those big goggles while he's judging? If so, we'll be sure to tune in.
