According to the official website for The Encierro—aka The Running of the Bulls—you need to have three things in order to participate in the annual event in Spain:

  1. You need to have cool nerves. If you freak the $^%& out while you're trying to escape a charging bull, you could get yourself or others seriously hurt.
  2. You need to have quick reflexes. The bulls are relatively unpredictable and could charge at you at any moment. So you need to be able to get out of the way when they decide to start running.
  3. You need to have a "good level" of physical fitness.

Rex Ryan has the first requirement down. After dealing with the New York media for four seasons, he has nerves of steel. We would say he's got the second one down, too. Again, the New York media has a way of keeping you on your toes. But that last one? Ehrrrrrrr. Not so much. Ryan has lost a lot of weight in recent years. But he still doesn't look like the fittest guy on the planet.

Despite that, he gave the Running of the Bulls a shot this year, and the clip above shows the result. It features Ryan and a bunch of other runners trying to scale a fence to get away from a charging bull. His attempt isn't pretty. But at least he's still alive! And after doing this, we imagine that fielding 500 questions about a guy who isn't even on the Jets anymore during training camp will be a cinch.
