Percy Harvin Announces on Twitter That He Will Undergo Hip Surgery

Sorry, Harvin.

Last week, Seattle Seahawks fans were dealt a major blow when news surfaced that an MRI discovered a slight tear in the labrum of Percy Harvin's hip. To make matters worse, there was a fear that the injury could require surgery. This week, Harvin seeked out a second opinion and Dr. Bryan Kelly confirmed that he would indeed need to go under the knife to repair the damage.

A short while ago, Harvin went on Twitter to make a formal announcement and speak with 'Hawks fans who were obviously disappointed by the news:

when everything is goin good sometimes life throw u a curve ball... sorry to half to report that my injury will require surgery...
Nobody was more anxious and excited about season then....but I will be back strong as ever..i appreciate all the love and prayers 12th man

There is no definitive date for Harvin's return. NFL Network is reporting that he could be out anywhere from three to four months, or "until at least November." Of course, as we've seen with guys like Adrian Peterson, Robert Griffin III and Kobe Bryant, timetables can always be wrong.

Either way, we wish Harvin a speedy recovery because we want to see him on that field just as much as everyone else.
