You're outta here!

That's what Major League Baseball reportedly told veteran umpire Brian Runge recently after he failed a drug test, reached an agreement to remain an umpire, and then failed to comply with the agreement that he made. Although MLB has yet to confirm whether or not Runge was removed from his position because of a drug violation, he was removed from the umpire roster as of June 14. And a source who spoke with the AP recently revealed that his ouster came about as a result of at least one failed drug test.

Both Major League Baseball and the World Umpires Association are keeping quiet on the matter. But if Runge really was fired because of a drug violation, it's yet another blow to the image of MLB. If it's not the players using drugs, now it's the umpires. Good grief.
