We all know that it's better when driving to actually look where you're driving, but heads up displays (HUDs) are really taking their sweet time in catching on. Mercedes is, however, working on a clever solution to this problem by creating a Google Glass app that integrates the car's navigation system with the tech giant's futuristic eye-piece.

Part of what Mercedes is investigating is creating a seamless transition from the car's nav system to Google Maps walking directions, to give the option for true door-to-door navigation. We hope that the infotainment system also gets an app, so that looking down and to the right could be done away with entirely.
