Matt Ryan is set for life. Well, technically, he was already set for life. But now, him, his kids, his grandkids, his great-grandkids, his great-great-grandkids, his great-great-great-grandkids, and all of the kids that they're eventually going to have are set for life, too. Because, according to ESPN's Chris Mortensen, the Falcons quarterback just signed a ridiculous contract extension:
Ryan deal is done with 5 year ext at $103,750 million, $59 million guaranteed, $63 mill in first 3 years, $20.75 mill average per— Chris Mortensen (@mortreport) July 25, 2013
Yikes. That's a lot of money. Probably too much money when you consider that Ryan hasn't even won a Super Bowl yet. But with Joe Flacco and, hell, Tony Romo signing similar contract extensions recently, we can't even blame Atlanta for paying the going rate to lock Ryan up for the foreseeable future. Let's just hope their investment pays off.
