Geno Smith Reportedly Isn't Attending Mark Sanchez's Annual "Jets West" Workouts This Week

Is there trouble in paradise?

When Jets training camp kicks off later this month, Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith are going to be in constant competition for the Jets starting quarterback position. And it appears as though Smith is starting the competition a little early.

According to ESPN New York, Smith is not attending the "Jets West" camp that Sanchez holds every year in California this week. Although he said, "Sure, sure," last month when asked if he would be in attendance at the camp, Smith is reportedly working out on his own in Florida right now in preparation for training camp. Other Jets offensive players are out in Cali soaking up some sun and working out. But Smith isn't there, despite the fact that Sanchez extended an invitation to him and every other Jets player on the roster.

Does that mean that Smith and Sanchez aren't getting along? We don't know. Maybe Smith just has his own routine down in the Sunshine State. But one thing is for sure: The QB competition between Sanchez and Smith is going to be intense. And from the sound of things, it's already getting underway.
