Ford EcoBoost power in a 1,500 lb body sounds nice to us.

We've known that a lightweight track car called the VŪHL 05 was in the works down in Mexico for some time now, but now we know much more about the tiny roadster. As it turns out, the VŪHL 05 is powered by the same 2.0L EcoBoost from the Focus ST, but tuned to produce 285 hp and 301 lb-ft of torque, which is enough to send the VŪHL 05's 1,500 lbs to 60 mph in just 3.7 seconds.

While the car is being billed as Mexican made, like all modern cars it really is a global creation: the engine is American, it's being tested in the US by French tire manufacturer Michelin, tuned in the UK, and assembled in Mexico with Canadian made bodies.

There's a catch though, and it's that this thing is going to cost $106,000, which makes it seem quite silly when compared to an Ariel Atom at $56,480 or a BAC Mono at $125,000.
