About six or seven years ago, I had the distinct pleasure of meeting and interviewing Dwyane Wade's ex-wife Siohvaughn Funches at an event at the NBA Store in New York City. At the time, she seemed like a very nice lady and was clearly very much in love with her husband. But in recent years, her and D-Wade have gone through a messy divorce and a crazy custody battle and are now clearly on the outs.
In fact, the two are apparently on such bad terms right now that Funches took to the streets of Chicago earlier today with a sign that read, "NBA MIAMI HEAT STAR MOTHER OF HIS CHILDREN ON THE STREETS." According to Deadspin, Funches was also ranting about "$90 million contracts" and "houses on the water" as she sat on the sidewalk. From the looks of the photo above, it was a tragic scene.
I hope Siohvaughn gets it together. Like I said, I weirdly met her one time and, for all intents and purposes, she was a very nice lady. But things don't seem to be looking up for her right now. So I hope she's able to find peace sometime in the near future. This is no way for anyone to live.
